Man Arrested for Firing a Gun Outside a Party in Highlands Ranch

Highlands Ranch, CO – On May 20, 2023, at 7:50p.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 4400 Block of Lyndenwood Circle in Highlands Ranch. The suspect, David Garcia (DOB 12/21/2004), attended a graduation party at that location with his mom and was consuming alcohol and became intoxicated. While he was waiting in his mom’s car to go home, a disturbance was occurring outside of the car. At one point, Garcia rolled the window down and allegedly fired three rounds from a 9mm pistol into the air. Two people on the scene were able to disarm Garcia and clear the firearm. There were no reported injuries from this incident. Deputies arrived on the scene and were able to get Garcia to unlock the car and take him into custody. He is facing charges of prohibited use of a weapon, illegal consumption of alcohol, felony menacing, reckless endangerment, obstruction of a peace officer, disorderly conduct-discharge of a weapon. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
