(Douglas County, Colorado) On December 31, 2025, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested John Michael Beccia Jr., 35, of Highlands Ranch, following a tip indicating he was in possession of child pornography. During the course of the investigation, deputies and detectives uncovered additional evidence leading to further criminal charges.
Beccia was arrested on charges including Aggravated Incest, Sexual Assault on a Child by a Person in a Position of Trust, and Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
Beccia has been employed by the Douglas County School District’s Nutrition Services since November 2025 and has served as an assistant kitchen manager at Mountain Vista High School. He has been placed on administrative leave. The Douglas County School District has been notified of the arrest and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Beccia was transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
All charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
At this time, the investigation has not identified any Mountain Vista High School students as victims. Detectives are asking anyone with information related to this case, or who believes they or someone they know may be a victim, to contact Detective Clay at sclay@dcsheriff.net.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
Update: 3:45 PM – Douglas County School District has terminated Beccia’s employment. He is no longer employed by the district.
