NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – An Aurora man was taken into custody yesterday in connection with a reported “carjacking” that occurred on December 28, 2021, in unincorporated Douglas County.
The victim had listed his car for sale on Facebook Marketplace. A person contacted him through the site, inquiring about purchasing the vehicle. They agreed upon a time and place for a test drive. During the test drive, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and a back seat passenger and ordered them to get out of the car. The victim and passenger got out and the suspect drove away in the victim’s car.
Through the labor-intensive investigation that was non-stop from 12/28/21-01/04/22 (8 days), detectives from the Pattern Crimes Unit (PCU), the Major Crimes Unit, IMPACT, and the Property Crimes Unit, were able to identify a suspect.
Ahmarion Shead, dob 060602, located in a house in Aurora, was taken into custody by Aurora PD SWAT and transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility and booked in on the following charges:
18-4-302 Aggravated Robbery F3
18-4-409 1st Deg Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft F5
18-3-206 Menacing (2 counts) F5
18-4-205 Poss Burglary Tools F5
18-12-108 Poss of Weapon by Previous Offender F6
His bond, in this case, is currently $50,000. He is also being held on a “no bond” hold for several out-of-county warrants.
