Douglas County Resident Arrested for Felony Menacing, Child Abuse, False Imprisonment

(Douglas County) On October 20, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. Douglas County deputies were dispatched to a residence near the intersection of Founders Parkway and Fifth Street in Castle Rock for a welfare check. The reporting party requested a welfare check on her two minor children after her ex-husband was reported to be involved in an argument with the children, and was not allowing them to leave the residence. It was also reported that the ex-husband was waving a handgun around during the argument.

Before deputies arrived, one of the minors was able to leave the residence, and got a ride to the Sheriff’s Office, where an interview was conducted. The other minor remained in the residence.

After conducting surveillance on the home for several hours, Douglas County deputies made an arrest shortly after 8 p.m without incident. He was arrested for investigation of Felony Menacing, Child Abuse, and False Imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing, and no other information is being released at this time.
