NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – On 03/11/19, at around 1:00 pm a 20-year-old male from Highlands Ranch was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery of a taxi driver, who had driven him home.
At around 11:35 am, dispatch received a call reporting that a taxi driver had been robbed, possibly at gun-point, and the unknown male had taken money from him and had not paid for the ride. As deputies were responding to the area of Cactus Creek Ct in Highlands Ranch, the victim was able to relay a good description of the suspect along with a possible first name. Deputies set up a perimeter in the area and called in K9 to assist in locating the suspect.
Through the investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect as well as where he lived. Deputies located the suspect at his house, but he refused to come outside to talk to them. While they were trying to get him to come outside, he fled the residence and ran across a nearby field. Deputies located the suspect, who initially did not comply with their commands, but was taken into custody a short time later.
Maurice Nicholas Curry, DOB 10/12/1998, was taken to the Douglas County Detention Facility and booked in on the following charges:

18-3-303 M2 False Imprisonment
18-8-103 M2 Resisting Arrest
18-8-104 M2 Obstruction

18-4-802 PO2 Theft of Public Transportation by Fare Evasion
Curry is currently being held on a $50,000 bond. The case is active and still under investigation.
