Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Needs the Public’s Help

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Needs the Public’s Help

On March 24, 2020, around 5:49 pm emergency personnel responded to the area of South Peoria St and Severn Lane, in unincorporated Douglas County on the report of an elderly woman, age 74, who had fallen and had sustained serious injuries. She was transported to the hospital. The victim suffered very serious injuries, including compound fractures of her wrists, and has no recollection of how she received her injuries. The treating physicians believe that her injuries are too severe to have been caused by a simple fall and believe that she was violently thrown to the ground, possibly after having been hit by a car or a bicycle.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help. They believe it happened anytime between 5:00pm and when we received the call. If anyone witnessed this event or has information about the incident, please call Detective O’Harold at 303-784-7815.
