On October 31, 2025, Corbin Klein, 31, was found guilty on multiple charges, including First-Degree Assault on a Peace Officer with a Deadly Weapon. He is scheduled to be sentenced on December 12, 2025, and faces 10 to 32 years in prison.
The conviction resulted from an incident in June 2024, when Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a series of calls that began as vandalism reports and later escalated to theft involving Klein.
During contact with deputies, Klein became uncooperative. As deputies attempted to take him into custody, he reached for a pocketknife and opened it. Deputies quickly subdued and safely took him into custody without any injuries.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office commends the professionalism and swift actions of the deputies involved, whose response prevented injury and ensured the safety of everyone on scene.
“This individual made a deliberate choice to attack law enforcement officers who were simply doing their jobs. Our deputies face real danger every day, and this incident could have ended much differently. I’m grateful for their bravery in the moment, for our detective who built a solid case, and for the District Attorney’s Office for ensuring this violent offender was held accountable for his actions,” said Sheriff Weekly.
