(Douglas County, CO) Early Monday morning (2/2/26), Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of sprinkler system backflow prevention valves. Deputies responded after a reporting party heard the sound of an electric saw and observed two suspects stealing copper-related materials. The suspects were seen leaving the area in a gray sedan.
Deputies quickly located the vehicle nearby and contacted the two individuals. During the investigation, deputies observed burglary tools, including a Sawzall and large bolt cutters, as well as four brass backflow prevention valves that had been cut from their supply pipes. The valves are estimated to be worth $1,000–$2,000 each. Illegal narcotics were also located during the arrest. The suspects were taken into custody.
