Fingerprinting The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is no longer able to process public fingerprinting.
This does NOT apply to:
- Concealed Handgun Permit Fingerprints
- Sex Offender Registration Fingerprinting
- Court Ordered Fingerprinting
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation Biometric Identification and Records Unit is responsible for processing all legislated fingerprint-based criminal history background checks for employment and licensing purposes.
Senate Bill 17-189 regulates public fingerprinting and as of September 24, 2018, there are now public fingerprinting vendors that you must use. For more information please visit the State of Colorado’s website on Employment.
No appointment needed. Customers will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
You must present a valid, government-issued driver’s license or other secure, verifiable photo ID prior to being fingerprinted and pay the applicable fee.

Immigration Fingerprinting (INS)
DCSO is legally not allowed to fingerprint citizens for immigration purposes.
Those fingerprints must be taken at an INS Application Support Center or an INS designated Law Enforcement Agency.
