Fingerprinting
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation Biometric Identification and Records Unit is responsible for processing all legislated fingerprint-based criminal history background checks for employment and licensing purposes.
Senate Bill 17-189 regulates public fingerprinting and as of September 24, 2018, there are now public fingerprinting vendors that you must use. For more information please visit the State of Colorado’s website on Employment.
To be fingerprinted, you must present a valid, government-issued driver’s license or other secure, verifiable photo ID prior to being fingerprinted and pay the applicable fee.
Immigration Fingerprinting (INS)
DCSO is legally not allowed to fingerprint citizens for immigration purposes.
Those fingerprints must be taken at an INS Application Support Center or an INS designated Law Enforcement Agency.
The INS office is located at 4730 Paris Street; Denver, CO 80239.
Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Fingerprints
Fingerprints will be completed on a First-Come, First-Served basis.
No appointment necessary.

Court Ordered Fingerprints
No exceptions will be made to Fingerprinting time & dates.
For court-ordered fingerprinting on Douglas County Sheriff’s Office charges, schedule a fingerprint appointment below. For municipal charges, contact the appropriate city agency for instructions.
You must present the physical copy of the Court Order and a valid government issued ID before your appointment.

FFL Employee Fingerprints
No exceptions will be made to Fingerprinting time & dates.
You must present a valid government issued ID along with a $39.50 money order, cashier's check, or pre-printed business check made payable to CBI before your appointment. Personal checks will not be accepted.
