Division Chief Taylor M. Davis began working with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in September 2017 as a Patrol Deputy. From 2018 to 2019, Taylor served as a School Resource Officer. In October 2019, Taylor was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where she worked in the Patrol, Investigations, and Professional Standards Divisions. In August 2023, she was promoted to Commander, overseeing teams within the Detentions and Patrol divisions. In March 2025, Taylor advanced to Division Chief, where she is responsible for the Support Services Division.

Division Chief Davis began her law enforcement career in 2013 with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office in California. She initially served at the Las Colinas Detention Facility and then worked as a Patrol Deputy at the Rancho San Diego Substation. In 2016, Taylor and her wife, Jessie, returned to Taylor’s home state of Colorado, where she briefly served as a Patrol Officer for the Black Hawk Police Department before starting her career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).

In addition to her professional work, Taylor volunteers as a board member for Shield Our Schools, an organization that provides grant funding for school building security improvements to reduce the risk of school shootings across Colorado.

Division Chief Davis is a graduate of several prestigious programs, including the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command (Class 574), the Denver University Public Safety Leadership Development Course, Leadership in Police Organizations, and the Frontline Leadership Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Wyoming, graduating in 2009.

Division Chief Davis, a native of Colorado, grew up in Douglas County, where many of her family members still reside. She takes pride in serving the community that raised her and looks forward to the future of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens it serves.
