On September 15, 2017, The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Parker Police Department and the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Fugitive Task Force located and took into custody a fugitive of seven years out of Buchanan County, Virginia.
In 2010, a search warrant was executed in Virginia on a child pornography case. The suspect, Jamie Castle (DOB 12/9/1977), was not arrested at the time of execution and ultimately fled from criminal prosecution. Castle acquired five felony warrants and one indictment for 153 counts of child pornography as a result of the original warrant execution.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia as it was believed that Castle was currently in Parker, Colorado. Follow-up by the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Fugitive Task Force returned a possible address where the suspect was living, in the 8000-block of Prairie Clover Way, Parker. FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Fugitive Task Force, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Parker Police successfully contacted the suspect at this location and took him into custody.
Castle is currently being held without bond at the Douglas County Detentions Center.
We are appreciative for the assistance of FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Fugitive Task Force, Parker Police Department and the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to locate and take into custody, without incident, a 7-year fugitive.
“Through collaboration of several different agencies this suspect has been arrested and will be processed through the criminal justice system. Our children and those in many other jurisdictions will be safer.” Sheriff Spurlock said. “We appreciate the assistance from all other agencies involved, it is through this type of collaboration that cases like these are solved and criminals are taken into custody.”
