Second Shooting Suspect Arrested in Inverness Shooting Case

NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – An Aurora man has been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on May 3, 2023, in the Inverness subdivision of Douglas County.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to identify the second shooting suspect as Gerald Grant DOB 07/31/2004, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Grant was taken into custody at the Douglas County Detention Facility on May 11, 2023, around 4:30 pm.

Grant was booked in on the warrant, which included the following charges:

18-3-102(1)(a) Attempted Murder 1- After Deliberation F2

18-3-102(1)(d) Attempted Murder 1-Extreme Indifference F2

Grant posted a $100,000 bond around 6:30 pm on May 11, 2023.

“I am proud of our detectives, who have worked tirelessly to identify all those involved in this case as well as the work they have done preparing it for prosecution,” said Sheriff Weekly.

This is still an open and active investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.
