On September 28th, 2020, Douglas County deputies were dispatched to a local hospital concerning a call regarding a woman that had been brought in for a medical emergency and had possibly just given birth. There was no newborn with the woman.
Due to the possibility that a newborn may need assistance, deputies responded to her house, where they discovered the body of a deceased infant.
After a year-long investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the woman. On September 30th, 2021, Peyton Green, DOB 06-18-2001, located in Wyoming, was taken into custody on the warrant. On October 5th, 2021, Green was transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where she was booked in on the following charges:
18-3-102 Murder in the First Degree F1
18-8-610.5 Tampering with a deceased human body F3
18-8-306 Attempt to Influence a Public Servant F4
Green is currently being held on a no bond hold.
