Family Meets DCSO Deputies That Saved Them

(Highlands Ranch, CO) A truly heartwarming moment as a family meets the deputies that put themselves in harms way to protect them from being hit by a car. On January 26th, Cherish Hood and two of her children had a terrifying close call with a reckless driver as they left a Highlands Ranch grocery store. Just as the suspect’s vehicle sped toward them, Deputy Connor Lacey and his Field Training Officer Trent Hoffman quickly pulled their patrol vehicle in front of the suspect’s vehicle, stopping him and preventing a potentially devastating incident. The deputies, calm under pressure, saved the day and ensured the safety of the family. It’s a reminder of how DCSO heroes put their lives on the line to protect and serve. Sheriff Weekly said, “It’s a proud moment for me to recognize these gentlemen who do this every single day. They put themselves between good and evil, and they do it without hesitation. Douglas County is blessed to have people just like this protecting our residents.” Link to full story: youtu.be/tNylfgl-WJw
