(Douglas County, CO) It’s that time of year where people are hitting the trails and great outdoors..and so are thieves. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to exercise caution and take preventive measures after two recent incidents involving vehicle break-ins. #DCSO detectives believe the two cases are connected. The thieves used stolen credit cards to make purchases at local retailers, including Home Depot and Walmart.
Incident Details:
February 19, 2024, between 11:45 AM and 12:30 PM at Reuter Hess Reservoir (9343 Double Angel Rd. Parker)
April 12, 2024, between 6:00 PM and 7:15 PM at the Douglas County Fairgrounds (500 Fairgrounds Dr. Castle Rock)

Safety Tips:
Remove Valuables: Never leave valuable items (wallets, purses, electronics, etc.) visible inside your vehicle.
Lock Your Vehicle: Always lock your car doors, even if you’re stepping away for a short time.
Park in Well-Lit Areas: Choose well-lit parking spots, especially during evening hours.
Report Suspicious Activity: If you witness any suspicious behavior near parked cars, report it to law enforcement immediately.
