(Douglas County, CO) The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that we are the latest agency to roll out the Blue Envelope Program.
This free initiative is designed to support safer interactions with law enforcement by providing deputies with important information about someone with a disability or who may need additional assistance.
How it works:
When a deputy conducts a traffic stop, a person can hand over a Blue Envelope containing copies of their driver’s license, proof of insurance, registration, and any other relevant information. The envelope can also include details about verbal or communication needs, or other accommodations. This allows deputies to provide the support and understanding each individual may require.
The Blue Envelope Program officially launches tomorrow, October 1, 2025, and envelopes will be available for pick-up at:
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office: 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO
Highlands Ranch Substation: 9250 Zotos Dr, Highlands Ranch, CO
South Metro Fire Rescue Headquarters: 9195 E. Mineral Ave. Centennial, CO
This program helps ensure that interactions with law enforcement are safe, clear, and respectful for everyone.
