(Highlands Ranch, CO) An update to the active shooter incident at Main Event: The female suspect has been identified as Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders, age 23, of Denver. She was arrested on suspicion of criminal attempt first-degree murder and first-degree assault. We will be referring the case to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for filing of charges. A charge is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Investigators found multiple firearms at the scene and are still piecing together what happened. Sheriff Weekly is committed to full transparency and will release additional information as soon as possible.
The deputy who confronted a gunman in the parking lot is on paid administrative leave, per policy, while the investigation is conducted.
We urge the community not to rush to judgment and to allow detectives time to complete their investigation. The priority remains the safety of our residents, and we are grateful for the swift actions of our deputies in responding to this dangerous situation.
