We need your help! In partnership with the Community Safety Volunteer Association of Douglas County and Highlands Ranch Walmart, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring this year’s “Shop with a Cop” on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Every year, our deputies reach out to families in our community during the holiday season and discover that many children will not receive gifts. The “Shop with a Cop” program makes a significant difference in their lives by ensuring they receive presents. This initiative not only benefits the children but also strengthens our community by fostering a sense of unity and support.
Through the “Shop with a Cop” program, children in need are invited to shop with deputies. Funds donated are used to purchase gift cards for the children to use during their shopping trips. Once the children arrive at the Walmart store, they are paired with Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies for their shopping spree. The program aims to give underprivileged children holiday presents while building relationships with local law enforcement. The joy and excitement on the children’s faces during this shopping experience is truly heartwarming.
Douglas County Sheriff Darren M. Weekly shares, “We believe in the power of giving, and this program allows us to create lasting memories while fostering positive relationships with our deputies. Your support makes a genuine difference in the lives of these children, and we are grateful for every contribution that helps bring smiles and joy during this special season.”
Please help us ensure that these children have a nice holiday season. 100% of the donations (after transaction fees) will be used to purchase Walmart gift cards for the children on this special day. Your donation goes to the CSVA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. If you would like to donate to the “Shop with a Cop” program, click “Donate to the Shop with a Cop 2024.”
