Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Death Investigation Update:
The suspect, taken into custody in yesterday’s death investigation on Elmhurst Dr., has been identified as Sean Gipson 04/25/90.
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for the release of the victim’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
This is still an open and very active investigation, and no more information will be released at this time.
On 01/07/24, around 10:24 a.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 800 block of Elmhurst Dr. on the report of shots being fired, possibly related to a family disturbance. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered one deceased person. One person has been taken into custody. There is no danger to the community.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a death investigation. The Douglas County Coroner will determine the official identification of the deceased person as well as the cause and manner of the death.
This is a very active investigation and updated information will be sent out when it becomes available.
