On March 6, 2025, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office detectives from the Special Victims Unit were notified of an injured three-month-old male infant who was at a local hospital. Officials believed that the infant’s injuries may have been the result of child abuse by one of the parents.
On March 12, 2025, after the initial investigation, Bryan Cunningham, age 33, was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where he was booked in on the charge of Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Class 3 Felony. He is currently in custody on a $50,000 bond.
A charge is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
This is an open investigation, and no other information will be released at this time.
