Got Drugs? Drug Take Back Day is set for September 26th, 2015

Flushing or dumping medicine down a drain or toilet is not a good way to dispose of it. Pharmaceutical residues have been detected in the drinking water of 24 major metropolitan areas across the country serving 46 million people. Instead, drive through and turn in your unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medication for safe disposal.

Saturday, September 26th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will host Drug Take Back Day at our Highlands Ranch Substation located at 9250 Zotos Drive (Highlands Ranch Parkway west of Broadway).

Items which are not accepted: Needles and Sharps, Mercury (thermometers), Oxygen Containers, Chemotherapy/Radioactive substances, Pressurized canisters, and Illicit Drugs.

For more information, visit dcsheriff.net or highlandsranch.org.

This event is sponsored by the Highlands Ranch Metro District, the Centennial Water and Sanitation District and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
