On June 18, 2024, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 55-year-old James Thomure of Centennial for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. Thomure is a teacher at Douglas County High School.
Thomure was transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where he is currently being held on a $20,000 bond. A charge is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have information regarding this case or who believes they or someone they know might also be a victim of Thomure to contact Detective Clay at sclay@dcsheriff.net.
