This is a great example of our community taking part in public safety. A resident called in to say they saw someone “slumped over at the wheel” and were concerned for their welfare.
When #DCSO deputies arrived at the parking lot of a Highlands Ranch park, they saw a person sitting in the driver’s seat of a running car slumped over. They also observed evidence of drug use in the person’s lap. When they contacted the 18-year-old female driver, they found more evidence of drug and alcohol use. She was arrested and taken to jail, where she faces DUI and other drug-related charges.
Thank you to the observant resident, who knew something was wrong and decided to call us. We got this driver off the road before someone could have been hurt. #HonorServiceValor
