2 injured in Fort Carson Blackhawk accident

Two Soldiers were injured in a 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter accident at approximately 4:30 p.m. today.

At the time of the accident, it was on a routine training mission on U.S. Forest Service land in Douglas County.

Initial reports indicate there were four Soldiers on board.  Douglas County Emergency Services is on site.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

There will be a joint Fort Carson – Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Press Conference held at 8 p.m. tonight at 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, Colorado, about the Fort Carson UH-60 accident that occurred this afternoon.
