Submit an Online Accident Report

Please use this system to report accidents that occurred while the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was on accident alert. Accident alert means that due to the large number of accidents, deputies are unable to respond to minor, non-injury accidents usually associated with bad weather. To find out if the location in which your accident occurred within Douglas County was on accident alert, please call Douglas County Sheriff Dispatch at 303-660-7500. You may also use this system to report accidents that occurred on private property or for accidents in which an officer wasn’t able to respond to the scene.

Report an Animal Complaint or Concern

If you have an animal control related issue that is endangering public safety (aggressive dog running at large) or a public health issue (domestic animal bite involving a human) please contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dispatch Center immediately at 303.660.7500.

Some Animal Control Issues can also be reported online. Examples of issues that may be reported online include:

  • Barking dogs
  • Dog running at large when the animal is off of its property
  • Animal nuisance related calls such as animal feces and too many animals on a property.

Online reports will be processed as quickly as possible and will result in a response by an Animal Law Enforcement Officer. Generally a response to an online report will occur within 48 hours, but any emergency situations will take precedence. Should your report be incomplete or missing critical information you will be contacted via email or by telephone.

Report Identity Theft

Use this form if someone has used your name or personal information or your financial transaction device (i.e. credit card, checks, etc.) to obtain goods or services. This report will not be used to start an investigation, it is only for your records and to report the crime for the purpose of getting reimbursed and satisfy your bank’s requirements. If you feel you have information that can be followed up on by a LOCAL Deputy, you need to have a deputy respond to your location in order to properly evaluate the case.

Report Missing or Lost Property (not stolen)

Property that belongs to you or to your company is missing or lost but has not been stolen. STOLEN, MISSING, OR LOST LICENSE PLATES CANNOT BE REPORTED ONLINE. Please call dispatch at (303) 660-7500.

Report Theft

Use this form if someone intentionally stole an item(s) that belongs to you or to your company with the intent not to return it, and the value of the item(s) is less than $20,000.00.  

DO NOT USE THE ONLINE PORTAL TO REPORT THE FOLLOWING:

  • Lost, missing, or stolen license plates
  • Stolen motor vehicles
  • Property that was stolen out of a home, garage, or business (This is a burglary)
  • Mail that was stolen out of a locked mailbox (This is a burglary)

If any of these apply, please call dispatch at (303) 660-7500 to request the assistance of a Deputy and to file a report.
